A surface shaped by movement.
The photograph reads through rhythm and erosion, with water suggested as a force rather than a detail.
BEHIND THE FRAME
The ground looks as if water has been writing across it for a long time. Kassem follows those lines rather than searching for a single landmark. The image works because the movement stays legible: channels, stains and soft edges lead the eye through the surface. It is less about water as a subject than about what water leaves behind.
